I have spent over thirty years on the project and construction management of large infrastructure and industrial developments across the Middle East, Africa and Pacific Asia — as a consultant, as a contractor, and on the client side.
The core of the record is water: sewerage, storm water and TSE networks, pumping stations, wastewater treatment from municipal works to refinery effluent plants, water supply and desalination, and the marine structures that serve them. Around it sits a second body of work in energy — a 300 MW power plant in Vietnam, district cooling at national scale in Qatar, and more recently hydrogen, biogas and low-temperature waste heat recovery.
Since 2013 I have worked independently from Doha as a technical specialist and expert witness. The work is expert reports, dispute resolution, due diligence and design review, mostly on design-build-operate-and-maintain water and energy contracts. I am a Chartered Engineer, a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, and a registered Professional Engineer.
I administer contracts under FIDIC, NEC (ICE), JCT and GCWorks1 forms, used with FEED, EPIC, design-build, BOT and partnering agreements, and I am conversant with claim negotiation and resolution from both sides of the table. Hydraulic modelling in PCSWMM, STORMCAD and WALLRUS.
