Scope
Directed the entire primary infrastructure design contract for a 1,000 ha academic, research, sports, residential and commercial development, from land-use scenarios and master planning to detailed design and tender documentation.
Central plant with 160,000 T district cooling, underground bulk reservoirs and pressurised distribution in a network of concrete utility tunnels.
Wastewater and storm water collection incorporating 2.4 m diameter micro-tunnelled pipeline used as on-line storage; site-wide water strategy including groundwater reuse for irrigation.
Dual and single carriageway road network, light transit railway with viaduct and tunnel structures, multi-storey and underground parking for 3,500 vehicles each, 66/11/3.3 kV distribution with SCADA.
Outcome
Bid packs issued to programme, enabling phased site-wide construction; primary road and rail links agreed with PWA (Ashghal) and QRC.
